dreamzs.net – ‘Super moon 2012′ May well Outshine Meteor Shower This Week-end

The biggest full moon for the year, a what are known as “super moon”, is going to take the center stage any time it raises this week-end, and also may well interfere with the peak of an annual meteor shower made by the leftovers from Halley’s comet.

The super moon of 2012 is the largest full moon of the year which will take place on may 5 Saturday at 11:35 pm; despite that, the moon may still show full to sky watchers on the day before as well as after the exact event.

Simultaneously, the annual Eta Aquarid meteor showers are going to be hitting its peak, NASA researchers think. There’s a possibility that the brightest fireballs from the meteor display can still be seen.

A super moon happens when the moon hits its full phase at that time it would make the nearestapproach to Earth for the month, a lunar milestone called perigee.

That’s precisely. what may happen on this Saturday, while the moon would swing within 356,955 kilometers of earth its closest approach of the whole year?

Mainly, because the moon’s orbit is not specifically circular, there can be a 3-percent variation in its closest approaches to Earth each month.

The average Earth-moon extended distance is all about 384,400 km. the previous one super moon was in March 2012, at this time, it was the biggest and brightest full moon in 18 years.

The couple released a statement to People saying that they have decided to divorce “after much heartfelt consideration, adding, “Though we have made this incredibly difficult decision to separate, our love and mutual respect remain, and we look forward to sharing in the lives of our wonderful children.”

According to In Touch Weekly, the two have been separated for a while. A friend tells the magazine, “They are still really close and remain the best of friends….They’ve been taking turns with their kids so they can both see them as much as possible. it has been really amicable, with no other parties involved, and Chris has been a total professional while filming The Bachelorette.”

The host was accused of cheating back in February 2010 during a Women tell All show where Rozlyn Papa was asked about her “inappropriate behavior” with a show’s producer. Rozlyn fired back calling the host a “cheater.” Harrison later brushed off allegations calling it a “cheap shot,” then said, “You won’t hear me speak out about Rozlyn any more after this interview.”

Harrison and Jones met in high school and later married. they have two children, their son Joshua, 9, and daughter Taylor, 7.

The Bachelorette will premiere on may 14.

‘American Idol’: What Will Jessica Sanchez Sing After Near-Exit?

Posted by admin | Posted in Stay Beautiful Taylor Swift | Posted on 04-05-2012-05-2008

The “American Idol” top seven took on current hits last week, and look how well things turned out! Uh, wait, never mind.

Anyway, after Jessica Sanchez escaped elimination thanks to the judges’ save (which officially marked the first time this season they’ve actually done something right), “Idol” producers decided to up the ante for Wednesday night’s (April 18) show by letting the contestants sing both a #1 from the past decade — since it worked so well before — and a classic soul tune.

Yes, it’s “Then and Now” week on “Idol,” which, come to think of it, is a pretty apt way of viewing the show’s steady decline. It also means we’re going to see the usual front-runners strut their stuff: Sanchez will dominate a Beyoncé hit, Joshua Ledet will own a soul tune, Colton Dixon will make bedroom eyes to the camera — yep, it’s gonna be a great night!

So, in anticipation of all that, uh, excellence, MTV News’ resident “Idol” experts Gil Kaufman and James Montgomery have returned once again with their hand-selected songs for the remaining seven. and for the first time, they actually agree on a couple of things! Read on for their picks:

Colton Dixon We get it, Colton, you’re the hand-holding, sensitive type. I’ve said it before and, given your vanilla soft-serve taste in music, I will say it again: Sing Owl City’s 2009 smash “Fireflies.” It’s a song girls love, and that seems to be all that matters on “Idol” anyway. As for your soul pocket, why not the Staples Singers’ “I’ll take you there,” since it’s kind of a holy rolling rocker? -Kaufman

We know he loves the Lord. We also know he has terrible taste in music. Is there any doubt, then, that for his “current” song, he’ll take on Creed’s “With Arms Wide Open”? (It was #1 for one week in November 2000!) As for his soul selection, well, I could see him caterwauling his way through Smokey Robinson and the Miracles’ “Tracks of my Tears.” Hey, it’s certainly emo enough. – Montgomery

Hollie Cavanagh Let’s face it: Being in the bottom three almost every week is a drag. It’s enough to shake your confidence, but the Texas automaton with the “Toddlers and Tiaras” perma-smile just keeps hanging on. Things can’t get much worse, so she might as well go for broke with Katy Perry’s “I Kissed a Girl.” That means she needs to bring a big, showy ballad for her soul song and Diana Ross’ “Reach Out and Touch (Somebody’s Hand)” always works. always. – Kaufman

She’s still here. Somehow. anyway, since I was about the only person on the planet who thought she did a good job with Pink’s “Perfect” (except for barely enough of the “Idol” voters, that is), there’s no way she’ll go down that route again. So for her contemporary song, I say she goes ballad and does Mariah Carey’s “We Belong together.” Soul-wise, shoot, your guess is as good as mine, so let’s just say she’ll do Martha and the Vandellas’ “Heat Wave,” and then get shown the door on Thursday. – Montgomery

Elise Testone Poor E-Test. She keeps knocking it out of the park, yet ends up in the bottom three time and time again. We know she can kill a Lady Gaga or Pink song, which is why she should wrap those gritty pipes around original “Idol” Kelly Clarkson’s booming “My Life Would Suck Without you.” As for her soul pick, Sam Cooke’s “Bring It on Home to Me” will totally let her shine in her own unique way. – Kaufman

She can play the piano. She has a flair for the dramatic. So she’ll do Alicia Keys’ “Fallin’.” for her other song, she should show off her fiery side, and what better tune to do that than Ike and Tina Turner’s “Proud Mary”? I could definitely see her dominating the latter, and if she does, she might actually have a shot at winning this thing — especially after last week. Or she could just get booted. Season 11, everybody! – Montgomery

Phillip Phillips too bad for Philly Phil that the Dave Matthews Band hasn’t charted lately, otherwise he could just throw in the towel and cover the band he’s been covering every week anyway. With not many contemporary rock tunes to choose from, he may have to just growl his way through James Blunt’s weeper “You’re beautiful.” Or, worst comes to worst, Nickelback’s “How you Remind Me.” and he could surely put his foot-stompin’ stank on the Motown classic “I Heard It through the Grapevine.” – Kaufman

Couldn’t you see him putting a sultry spin on Outkast’s “Ms. Jackson”? Hey, I could too — and it would probably rule. Of course, he’ll just end up grouting through something else, so why not Nickelback’s “How you Remind Me”? (Gil and I are on the same wavelength, apparently). for his soul number, well, he’d be a fool not to do Otis Redding’s “(Sittin’ On) the Dock of the Bay.” the ladies will go crazy, and he’ll move one step closer to his inevitable heartthrob-off with Dixon. – Montgomery

Joshua Ledet Mantasia’s playing with house money this week, and it feels like he should roll the dice. He killed it by going uptempo last week, so he should double down and do Outkast’s “Hey Ya!” People love that song and it would make him seem … less dated than he does now. then he can go back into his groove for a certified standing-O run through Otis Redding’s “(Sittin’ On) the Dock of the Bay.” – Kaufman

We know he can’t do Bruno Mars two weeks in a row, so maybe he puts his own take on Janet Jackson’s “All for You”? (Call it a hunch: Josh is a Janet fan.) As for the soul classic, shoot, name one he can’t sing the bejesus out of: Wilson Pickett’s “In the Midnight Hour,” Sam and Dave’s “Hold on, I’m Comin’,” any version of “I Heard it through the Grapevine.” No matter what he chooses, it’ll be great. – Montgomery

Skylar Laine We’ll assume this week’s theme allows for country #1′s as well, in which case the resident boot scooter could go the soft route with Lee Ann Womack’s oft-sung “I Hope you Dance” or the burn-it-out route with Gretchen Wilson’s “Redneck Woman.” Finding a classic soul song for Skylar to pour grits and gravy on shouldn’t be that hard — and yet. She could scuff up Freda Payne’s “Band of Gold,” or just stay close to home and put some twang on Gladys Knight and the Pips’ “Midnight Train to Georgia.” Hell, Georgia’s right there in the title! (Even though she’s from Mississippi.) – Kaufman

Through every fault of her own, her current choices are basically limited to stuff like Carrie Underwood’s “Inside Your Heaven,” Taylor Swift’s “You Belong With Me” or Lady Antebellum’s “Need you Now.” I’ll say she goes with Underwood. She’s got way more leeway when it comes to classic soul, though I could see her doing a dynamite job on something like Frankie Lymon’s “Why do Fools Fall in Love” or the four Tops’ “Reach Out, I’ll be there.” – Montgomery

Jessica Sanchez BeBe Chez has proven time and again that she’s got ballad chops for days, but she’s still trying to prove she can shake it like a Polaroid picture. Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” could be the one. and what the hell? If you’re gonna play the role of baby diva, you might as well get some “Respect” from the Aretha Franklin fans in the crowd! – Gil Kaufman

Wow, Gil and I are really in tune this week. Or perhaps “Idol” really has become this predictable. anyway, two songs for Sanchez means she’s gonna be able to show off both her true self and her nefarious alter ego, BeBe Chez. I say BeBe gets to shine on Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It),” and, seriously, is there any doubt she’ll go supreme Diva and do Aretha Franklin’s “Respect”? After last week’s near-elimination, you know she’ll be singing for the rafters tonight. sometimes you’ve just got to light a fire. – Montgomery

Investing in Rare Earth Metals: Don’t Do It!

Posted by admin | Posted in investing | Posted on 04-05-2012-05-2008

0

I was rather surprised to see that a UK company is recruiting salesmen to sell rare earth metals directly to retail investors. this post is simply a warning to those so approached that you really don’t want to be doing such retail investments in rare earth metals. Quite why I’ll explain in a moment.

The advertisement itself was pretty clear. Selling rare earth metals to retail investors is not illegal in the UK. Nor is it controlled in any manner: it’s no more controlled than selling cornflakes or Beanie Babies to people. but they were looking for good telephone sales people who wanted to make the move into financial sales. so, clearly, they were looking for sales skills not financial ones.

It wouldn’t be too far off the mark to say that they were trying to staff a boiler room: although this time for physical commodities, not strange stocks or bonds. the wages were good too, another sign of it potentially being such a boiler room.

Given what I’m saying here I’m obviously not going to link to the advertisement.

For the thing is, rare earth metals, actual physical stocks of them, are an incredibly bad thing for retail investors to be trying to invest in. I cannot think of any way in which it would actually be a good idea.

I can understand the attraction of trying to sell them, certainly. There’s been enough newspaper reporting about how China currently controls 97% of production, everyone’s very worried about where future supplies will come from and so on.

It’s also true that there’s not much clarity about pricing. that makes it a great deal easier to attach a hefty margin to any goods that are shipped. great for the salesmen and helping to explain those decent incomes.

However, from the retail investors’ point of view there’s almost nothing that I can see that makes it a good investment.

Investing in the stocks of companies that produce rare earths: yes, I can see that as a possible portfolio diversification. Although I’d recommend, as someone actually in the business, that even there great care is taken and only, if any at all, small portions of available investment cash be used to do such.

But with actual physical investment in the metals there’s a huge problem. there just isn’t a liquid market in them. sure, you could buy 500 kg of neodymium, or 50 kg of dysprosium. maybe even 10 tonnes of cerium: in fact, I could supply such to you quite easily. but if you told me that you were a private investor I simply wouldn’t be willing to supply you with them. for I know very well that when, if, you come to want to sell them in the future there’s no one I can sell them to.

Yes, the metals are indeed used in industry, yes, industry does buy them in. but there is no spot market: you cannot go to Toyota with your lanthanum and say, well, you use lanthanum in your batteries, buy mine! for Toyota (or whoever, they’re just an example) does not buy these metals as odd lots from people. They buy them on long term contracts direct from the producers.

Further, there is no network of brokers you can turn to who buy on behalf of these large companies. It just isn’t like gold or silver or copper, where if worst comes to the worst you can sell it to a scrap merchant for 80 or 90% of full value.

Wedding woes: First comes marriage?

Posted by admin | Posted in wedding | Posted on 04-05-2012-05-2008

Here’s another wedding woe sent in by a reader:

I hope that this does not sound random just to pour my heart out and ask for advice, however your blog has inspired me to do so…

I am stuck in a pickle; I have been with my BF for 2 years now we get along great and very much in love (blah blah) and went travelling round Europe together and all that. so things are going well. we both have enough money together to put down a deposit on a house. we have talked about this a lot and my BF and I would really like to go ahead with this. He and I talk a lot about being together and setting up a future.

However we haven’t talked much about marriage. I know he doesn’t want to at the moment, as we both come from divorced families so makes weddings hard but I am not sure if going into a financial commitment with someone who doesn’t want a marriage commitment first. Financially I have worked very hard for this deposit (and its more of a bigger deal to me then marriage) and I trust him implicitly, but I am not sure if it is a good idea. I want a marriage not to be something you have to do down the line just because you a house and been together for years.

So I’m stuck – what do I do? do I jump into this financially with the hope of a marriage commitment or get the ring to make sure that he is with me always, as this is my life savings…

I hope this all makes sense! we both are 26 just by the way :)

Thank you for listening I know you must get a lot of emails and if I do get a response it would be much appreciated.

As a child of divorce, I can completely empathise with the way in which a marriage separation in the family shapes the way you view marriage for yourself.

I don’t, however, believe that is a negative thing and I do not believe we should steer clear of marriage altogether just because we know the very real consequences when it doesn’t work out.

If anything, I believe it’s made me examine my relationships more; be more wary of potential areas of concern or breakdown, examine all angles of issues, try harder and love deeper.

And it sounds like the both of you are doing that: thinking, examining, treading carefully.

Now I don’t know where you live, or if you live together, however if you do, I assume you’re aware of de-facto laws which may or do affect your relationship.

To me, a financial commitment together is, in a sense, marriage.

Sure, it’s not the *wedding*, but it is a commitment – and one which for all intents and purposes is seen as marriage in the eyes of many laws.

The main issue, I guess, is that you believe that a ring will mean “he’s with you always”. I hate to trot out divorce stats – which you’d be well aware of – but to me, a commitment involving finances is just as binding, if not more, than a ring on your finger.

Let’s get one thing straight: a wedding is symbolic. That’s it. and it sounds like it’s that symbolism that you’re missing, the token, the gesture and the mushy (and it is lovely) feeling behind it.

And that, I’m afraid, is a different issue. Then it’s not about the house, or the money or any of that, but more about the feeling behind it. “Does he want to be with me forever?” and then eventually, maybe “Are we only getting married because that’s the ‘step’ we missed in this process together?”.

I don’t think there’s a right answer here. if you would like that symbolic commitment before you sign up to a mortgage together, you’re ALLOWED to ask for that, or at least discuss it.

But if you don’t talk about it, I fear the outcome may not fall in your favour later down the track.

Also keep in mind there’s no ‘correct’ process to follow here. Just because you might buy a house first, it doesn’t mean the marriage won’t come – but similarly, it doesn’t mean it will either. the main thing here is to talk about both your views on marriage – because if it’s something you definitely want, and something he definitely doesn’t, then that’s where the real problems arise.

What advice do you have for this reader? should marriage come before financial committment?

San Diego, California News Station – KFMB Channel 8 – cbs8.comNotre Dame QB Rees jailed in police confrontation

By TOM COYNEAssociated Press

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) – Notre Dame quarterback Tommy Rees was pepper-sprayed and arrested early Thursday after he allegedly ran from away from an off-campus party and knocked the wind out of a police officer who caught up to him.

A probable cause affidavit says the 6-2, 210-pound Rees continued to resist even after being knocked down by police Officer Brandon Stec, so Stec used pepper spray and was finally able to subdue him with the help of other officers.

Police Capt. Phil Trent said linebacker Carlo Calabrese tried to talk to police, asking them why they don't like Notre Dame. Trent said Calabrese eventually grew angry and twice told officers: “My people will get you.”

The 19-year-old Rees was charged with one count of battery, two counts of resisting law enforcement and one count of illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor. Police had filed a preliminary charge of felony battery on a police officer, which would have required him to stay in jail until being arraigned before a judge.

Trent said Rees registered 0.11 percent on a blood-alcohol test. Rees was released on a $250 cash bond late Thursday afternoon.

Prosecutors said they were still reviewing the preliminary misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct against Calabrese and would make a charging decision on Friday. he was released on $150 bond.

Rees was among about five people who jumped a backyard fence and ran after officers arrived to break up a party several blocks from campus about 12:30 a.m. following the last day of Notre Dame's spring semester classes, Trent said.

The affidavit says Stec chased Rees, continually saying he was a police officer and continually telling him to stop, but Rees refused. when he ran out into the street, a passing taxi driver heard Stec ordering Rees to stop and maneuvered his car to block Rees' path, the affidavit said.

When Stec caught up with Rees, the quarterback “used his right knee to hit Officer Stec in the lower chest area, knocking the wind out of him, making it difficult to breath,” the affidavit says.

Coach Brian Kelly said he was aware of the incident.

“I am of course very concerned given the nature of the allegations, but I am still gathering information. I'll withhold judgment until I can collect all the facts and speak with both Carlo and Tommy,” he said.

Trent said police arrested the 21-year-old Calabrese after he became angry when it became clear Rees was being arrested. Trent said Calabrese asked police, “Why aren't you a Notre Dame supporter,” and “Why are you doing this to my teammate,” before eventually uttering his warning.

“I have no idea what that means but it's obviously some sort of threat,” Trent said.

Trent said some people in the crowd pulled Calabrese back into the yard away from the officers. Trent said Calabrese repeated the threat several minutes later and started trying to push through the people who were trying to restrain him. That's when he was arrested, Trent said.

Calabrese, who is from Verona, N.J., was a backup linebacker who played in every game last season after starting eight games as a sophomore during the 2010 season.

Rees, who is from Lake Forest, Ill., started 12 of 13 games as the Irish went 8-5 last season after starting four games as a freshman in the 2010 season. he was among four players competing during Notre Dame's spring practices for the starting quarterback spot this coming season.

“The university is aware of this incident and is confident that it will be handled in a prompt and professional manner through the criminal justice system,” Notre Dame spokesman Dennis Brown said in a statement. “Internal discipline is handled privately, in accord with our own policies and federal law.”

Brown said the university would have no further comment

Trent said no one else at the party was arrested or cited and that none of the others who fled from the party was caught.

Linda Evangelista in child support duel

Posted by admin | Posted in linda evangelista | Posted on 04-05-2012-05-2008

  Eyewitness News

NEW YORK — she has one of the world’s most famous faces. He’s a billionaire fashion CEO. and their 5-year-old son is at the center of a bitter, big-money child support fight.

Supermodel Linda Evangelista and ex-boyfriend Francois-Henri Pinault, a French business tycoon now married to actress Salma Hayek, faced off Thursday in the utilitarian environs of a Manhattan family court.

she wants a court to make him pitch in for child-rearing expenses she has tallied at nearly $50,000 a month – for armed bodyguards and a round-the-clock nanny, among other costs.

The trial is offering a public glimpse into the lives of the boldface and beautiful, from the vagaries of a modeling career to the peripatetic lifestyle of a movie star’s child. The first day of testimony included a detailed description of a $12 million mansion and Pinault discussing his brief breakup with Hayek before their 2009 marriage.

Evangelista, the 1980s and 1990s magazine-cover fixture who famously quipped that supermodels “don’t wake up for less than $10,000 a day,” looked on with somewhat anguished poise in a demure black knee-length skirt, flower-patterned blouse and tan stiletto pumps.

at one point, she let out a faint, frustrated “ohhhhh!” and raked her hair with her hands when Pinault’s lawyer, David Aaronson, said she was looking for $46,000 a month. While that’s what she said she’s spending on the child, Evangelista’s lawyer said Thursday she isn’t asking for any particular amount.

although she willingly paid all the boy’s expenses for most of his life, her roughly $1.8 million-a-year income took a major hit last year as a contract with L’Oreal ended, said her lawyer, William Beslow.

“It became necessary for her to go to the bullpen and ask the father for help,” he told the court. “Ms. Evangelista is not looking to piggyback the lifestyle of Mr. Pinault.”

But Pinault’s camp says the supermodel is doing just that. a potential $46,000-a-month tab is “just ridiculous,” Aaronson said.

Evangelista, now 46, and Pinault, 49, dated in late 2005 to early 2006, though he testified Thursday that the trans-Atlantic couple spent only about seven days together over that time.

Pinault is the chief executive of PPR, which owns Gucci, Yves St. Laurent and other luxury brands. he makes about $4 million annually from a complex of his family’s companies; Forbes recently estimated the family’s net worth at $13 billion.

Evangelista didn’t publicly identify Pinault as the father of the boy, Augustin, known as Augie, until last year, when she went to court against the businessman. In the meantime, he and Hayek had a daughter, Valentina, and later married.

When Evangelista told Pinault she was pregnant in early 2006, it wasn’t welcome news to the businessman, who had two children from a previous marriage. When asked Thursday if he thought Evangelista had tried to get pregnant, Pinault replied, “I guess so.”

Beslow said Pinault indicated he’d prefer her to abort the child. Pinault testified Thursday that he told her he wasn’t in a position to parent a baby but respected her decision to have the child.

“She told me that if I didn’t want to be involved in raising the kid or stay together and be parents together, she would understand, and she will take care of the kid,” the soft-spoken Pinault told the court, testifying in English. “I told her that I would recognize the baby … and I will take my responsibility.”

But he found her initial child-support proposal unreasonable, so he presented a counteroffer in 2007 but got no response until she sued last summer, he said. he has since paid an undisclosed amount, but he acknowledged that he had contributed virtually nothing until then.

“I’m not going to pay money I’m not asked for,” Pinault said.

his and Hayek’s 4-year-old daughter, Valentina, meanwhile, has been taken on a $52,000-plus 12-day vacation to Bora Bora and has a $12 million Los Angeles home in a trust for her – a step Pinault said he took to reassure Hayek she and the girl would have a home if the couple parted. a brief premarital split in 2008 “created a high level of anxiety to my wife,” he explained.

Evangelista was expected to testify later in the trial. at the end, the judge will make a ruling that the couple could accept or ask to be reconsidered.
