Exercise ‘Tat Suraksha’ from April 11

Port Blair, Apr 10 (PTI) ‘Tat Suraksha’ the bi-annualcoastal security exercise conducted jointly by civiladministration and armed forces to safeguard the coast ofAndaman and Nicobar Island will be held in the Andaman Seafrom April 11-13 in two phases, official sources said today. ‘Tat Suraksha’ exercise are practiced jointly by civiladministration and armed forces in a coordinated manner tosafeguard the coast of Andaman and Nicobar Islands in keepingwith the coastal security architecture put in place after the26/11 terror attack, they said. First phase will be the harbour phase involving Table Topexercises, the sources said adding that during the secondphase – ‘Tactical’ phase assets of ANC alongwith the assetsand personnel from 13 civil agencies will be deployed at sea. during the exercise simulated hijack and hostage likesituations will be exercised. The exercise also will be utilized to create awarenessabout the coastal security mechanism at A&N Islands . The exercise will be controlled and monitored from JointOperations Center (Coastal Security) at Headquarters, Andaman& Nicobar Command and Indian Coast Guard being a majorstakeholder in the coastal security chain will be coordinatingwith the all civil agencies during the conduct of the exercisefrom Regional Coastal Security Operations Center (A&N) atCGRHQ (A&N), the sources added.
